A ten minute drive brings you in to the center of Gainesville where a quaint setting shares that old time charm. 
 
For boaters, rowers and paddlers, the cove leads to the Chattahoochee river which is the main channel of the lake. Our location is also right near the Lake Lanier Olympic Park (home of the 1996 Summer Olympics rowing events) and a very desireable area for kayaking, canoeing, rowing teams and some of the best fishing spots. The cove itself is perpendicular to the rowing course.

Also nearby is the Lake Lanier Islands Water Park (25 min), Six Flags Atlanta (2 hrs), Tennis, Horseback riding and many local attractions by car. There are numerous golf courses in the vicinity with the closest one about a ten minute drive, see links below. Or for a little hidden treasure visit Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland, GA; an 18 hole par 70 in a very scenic and tranquil setting. No membership, no web site, no fancy requirements; just call ahead & have a great time.
Additional amenities are also only minutes away, a supermarket (7 min), restaurants, shopping etc (7-15min). Downtown Gainesville provides some interesting shops, nightlife and several restaurants. Gainesville Marina for boat rentals and supplies is a 15 minute drive (see link below). Please tell them you are staying here for a boat rental discount. The Mall of Georgia, and Chateau Elan (vineyard) are within easy driving distances too (30-40 min).

A short road trip will allow you to explore Blue Ridge and the Great Smokey Mountains boasting the historic towns of Helen, Dahlonega, the Appalachian Trail, Tallulah Falls, White Water Rafting, Tubing, Zip Lines, Mountain Biking, Hiking and more.
